What would make a kids backpack unique?  Many parents simply do not want the same old standard character or sports backpack, or one like everyone else got from Wal-mart.  Also, I am sure that more than one kid has at times requested a more unique backpack as a present from their parents and not the same old thing.  So let’s look at different kinds of unique kid’s backpacks.

Many parents have chosen to make their own unique backpacks.  They will get a denim type knapsack for their kid and let the kid design what they want on it.  Fabric markers can be used for many different effects on these types of bags.  As well, anything from beads to buttons to patches can be sewn on them.  In the end you create a unique kids backpack unlike any other.

If you don’t or your kid doesn’t want a new backpack, their regular old vinyl, leather or nylon backpack can be made unique by accessorizing it.  Collect key chains from various places or under a certain theme like Disney and hang them from the loops on the backpack.  If a parent is handy at sewing, a way to cover the shoulder straps with unique fabric covers can be designed.

If looking to buy a unique kids backpack there are plenty to choose from.  Some really cool hip-hop type bags have built in speakers so you can hook up an ipod or mp3 player, and let the music play not only to you but to those around you.  Of course this is not recommended in school.  The majority of backpacks, especially for older kids are not that unique.  Sure you can get different colors and pocket combinations, but the basic design of the bag is going to be the same.

One way to make a teens backpack unique would be to get their name embroidered on it, maybe even more than once.  If you or someone you know has an embroidery machine, you may be able to get a lot of cool stuff put on your knapsack.  Of course you can get a backpack that can carry your laptop and your school books, rather than just your books alone.  Not everyone has one of those.  For the most part the uniqueness is going to be in the color and pocket combinations.  Some really nice bags have trapdoor compartments for quick access to things like passports.  Other bags have hideaway waist straps or ports on the shoulder straps to hold hydration tubes or ear phone cords.  Yet other bags may have slider-adjusting sternum straps with a built-in safety whistle   These features all make a backpack unique.

As for little kid’s backpacks, there are unique ones shaped like animals.  We have seen bags shaped like sharks, horses, alligators and dogs.  These can get really cool.  With the younger kids style of backpack you can get more unique ones since the number of characters and designs found on little kid’s bags seems endless.

You may never find a backpack that only your child alone has.  Customizing your current one seems like the best way to guarantee that.  To increase the chances that you will be able to buy a unique or unusual one, you may have to shop online since that is definitely where you will find the greatest variety of unique backpacks.
