Pre-school kids will dream of being a big kid so a bag that is an appropriate size but cute will be ideal for them.  You can find backpacks that are styled just like larger bags but cut down for the younger set.  They may be decorated with quirky designs like polka dots or zigzags or just be full of colors that kids love.  Make sure they are easy to zip and are not composed of too many pockets.
