Many mothers dread pushing a stroller around, especially when shopping in a crowded area.  A backpack to carry your young kid may be an option.  Once your child is 5 or 6 months old you can begin to carry them in a backpack.  Some considerations when getting a backpack to carry a child are these.

-Is there enough storage space on the backpack?  You don’t want to have to carry extra bags with you if you don’t have to.

-Are the seams strong?  Some cheaper backpacks literally come apart at the seams.

-How long can you use the backpack before the kid is too big?

It is highly suggested that you do not buy a backpack to carry a kid unless you try it out with the kid in it.  Bring a friend or spouse along to help if you need to.

Getting a backpack with hip straps makes a world of difference.  This will allow the weight to be distributed more on your hips.  If you are unsure how to adjust the hip straps on your kid backpack, you can take it to a camping store like Bass Pro Shops and someone there can tell you how.  As well quick releases on the harness system seem to be a plus.

The more expensive backpacks to carry kids seem to be better built.  This is one item you should not skimp on due to the possible injury to yourself and your young child if the backpack fails during use.  Better quality comes at a price with these items, but your kid will be worth it, and so will your comfort.  You can find a large selection of backpacks to carry kids online making it easier to shop from the comfort of your own home.  If you can find backpacks at your local stores it is worthwhile to try them out so you know how they feel, and later buy that particular backpack online, as online prices tend to be lower.

Backpacks for carrying kids are usually a worthwhile investment and many mothers or fathers wouldn’t be without one.  Getting one may be something you should consider.
