The desire for buying clear kids backpacks is growing every year.  A clear backpack is not only a novel item but sometimes it is actually mandatory.  There are schools that require kids to carry clear backpacks.  Shopping for kids clear backpacks can be a challenge since not a lot of them can be found at local stores. The best way to find one is to shop online, although that makes it difficult to try them on.

Some kids simply want a clear backpack since they are unique.  Yet other kids hate them because there is no privacy involved.  Of course that is exactly why some schools require them, so kids can’t sneak dangerous things in. As in any school backpack you should look for one that is appropriate to your child’s size.  You will also want wide, padded, adjustable and comfortable shoulder straps and good seems on your kids backpack.  Make sure the zippers appear strong and get a backpack with the right amount of pockets.  Too many little pockets may be a pain and not enough may be impractical.

Most kids love the idea of getting a new backpack and they do make great gifts for birthdays or Christmas. Some clear backpacks will come with just certain parts clear, such as the outside pockets.  Others will be clear all over.  Even parents sometimes like the clear backpacks so they can see what their kid is carrying.  Whatever the configuration, make sure the back panel is padded (the part that goes against your kid’s back) so it will not be painful to carry.  Some kid’s backpacks can approach 40 pounds when full.  Usually the plastic part is made of PVC so you don’t want your young babies chewing on it.   You might want to keep it out of their reach.

Kid’s clear backpacks can come with a rain flap for protecting a front panel and a loop at the top for easy of carrying, just like any regular backpack.  Just because it is clear doesn’t mean it can’t be functional.  Clear backpacks are available with wheels for rolling and multiple pencil and mp3 player compartments.  The good news is that they are usually not as expensive as non-clear backpacks.

There is another classification of kid’s clear backpacks that we haven’t mentioned.  That is the little kid’s clear backpack for carrying beach toys to the shore!  These are usually not as functional as a school backpack, but do come with straps.  They are usually smaller than a regular backpack and meant specifically for the sand toys only.  In fact most of them come with pre-selected toys already packed in the bag.  You little kid can look so cute carrying their sand toys down to the beach.  They are good because it makes it easier to organize the wet and sandy toys at the end of the day.

There is nothing that says bigger kids can’t use their clear school backpacks for the beach or camping.  In fact a totally clear backpack might be good for bigger kids and the beach.  They are made of PVC so somewhat waterproof, depending on the strength of the zippers.  As an adult you may want one for yourself.  It definitely would help in carrying stuff down to a beach or pool, and then back to the room or house when things are wet.
